Infection Prevention Course
This online course is designed to help health care providers, supervisors of health care facilities, medical students, and nursing students strengthen infection prevention practices in low-resource settings.
A Book for Midwives
A vital resource for practicing midwives and midwifery training programs around the world. The revised 2004 edition preserves the original book's clear language, medical accuracy, and focus on simple, low-cost treatments, but has been reorganized and extensively revised to better support care during labor and management of obstetric emergencies.
Midwifery Education Modules
The six modules aim to help skilled practitioners think critically and make effective decisions on the basis of solid knowledge and understanding of these complications. When using the modules for basic midwifery programmes, it is understood that students should already be competent in most of the basic skills such as measuring blood pressure, performing a vaginal examination, conducting a normal delivery and prevention of infection.
This course embraces the latest methodology (Problem Based Learning) and technologies (Computer based education) in an attempt to be relevant and effective in preparing new midwifes. The materials have been authored by both University of Malawi - Kamuzu College of Nursing and foreign experts.
