GDRL Deployment Site Application Available
The Global Disability Rights Library (GDRL) is now accepting applications from organizations wishing to be considered for one of 60 deployment sites. The GDRL includes plans to select the first 20 deployment sites by June 2011. Interested parties can apply online.
McNulty International Research Fellowships
Open to Master's and Ph.D. students at The University of Iowa, the McNulty International Research Fellowship Fund will award a $1,000.00 Research Fellowship annually to one student planning to engage in research or training in Sub-Saharan Africa. Applications are due February 28, 2011.
Responding to popular requests for advanced training in library IT and content creation, WiderNet is expanding the number of programs offered at the University of Iowa. This allows WiderNet to serve a wider audience, giving interested parties the option to train at their home institutions or travel to Iowa for specialized, hands-on training.
Progress Report on the Global Disability Rights Library
October marked the end of the first year of the Global Disabilities Rights Library (GDRL) grant from the US Agency for International Development. The GDRL seeks to provide information to disabled people’s organizations and advocacy organizations so they can expand their organizational capacity, better serve their communities and make a positive impact for disability rights.
