The University libraries are experiencing a changing face with their home page in place. Administrative records have been posted. User service information can be viewed at the libraries homepage. The General Studies Use of library lectures are now available on the Web. (This is a compulsory credit earning course for all Fresh students in the University of Jos). The guide to the University Libraries 'Know Your Library' pamphlet has also been converted to an HTML document and can be viewed on the web. The library's holding of over 1000 current serials titles are also listed on the Web. The library's computer laboratory offers offers services for web browsing, literature search and e-mail messaging. Over 40 CD-ROMs (mostly abstracts) in relevant disciplines are assessed by academic staff and students doing research. The library's 19 PC's have daily proved inadequate for the increasingly long queue of users that want to access information. |
