Nigeria On The 'Net!

Encouraging a New Generation
Of Nigerian Webmasters

In an effort to spark enthusiasm for Web development and recognize those who have put hundreds of hours into the pioneer work of digitizing and publishing Nigerian information for World Wide Web, we have established an annual contest called Nigeria on the 'Net.

Nigeria on the 'Net awards -- totaling over N25,000 -- are funded by donations from the university and private individuals. Individual prizes, ranging from N5,000 to N2,500 are to be awarded for Web sites in the following categories:

research/publication

teaching

departmental/administration

public service

personal

arts/culture

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts for their originality, content, completeness, and ease of navigation.

The first awards will be announced in June. Entries will be featured on the UNIJOS Intranet server and its mirror site in the U.S.
