Since 1946, the Dag Hammarskjöld Library
at United Nations Headquarters in New York, which
is part of the Department of Public Information (DPI), has arranged for the
distribution of
United Nations documents and publications to users around the world through its
depository
library system. The Dag Hammarskjöld Library continues to
move toward being a
virtual library with a focus on
electronic information support for multilingualism and outreach to depository
libraries. The library's Internet publishing is an ongoing series of
subject-focused bibliographies on various United Nations issues. It has a
database that provides access to document symbols for the most frequently
requested United Nations
information -- known as "UN-I-QUE" or "UN Info Quest".
The library also has an interactive

PG Reader.com |
| |
It is an on-line, fully customizable reader that allows the user to adjust
font sizes, as well as providing for a reading friendly font face and the
ability to page through a book in much the same way as a normal hardcopy.
The PG Reader was an answer to a question. "How can I
view the countless Project GutenbergTM Etexts
in a more convenient way...". While there are stand-alone readers for different
operating systems available, there was no way to view the Etexts through a
browser, other than the plain text files themselves.
The PG Reader bridges this gap, and allows for
convenient viewing of the desired Etext. We have a wide selection of Etexts
located locally, and there are a number of easy ways to
add
your personal favourites to that collection.
It is 100% completely free
to use, and every Etext available on the site is free to download as well.
