She is studying at Urbana-Champaign and will be visiting
the WiderNet Project from February 8-11th, 2004 to learn about the eGranary
and tour the universities library facilities before

Dr.
Akintunde is the Deputy Univeristy Librarian at the
University of Jos in Nigeria. He will be aiding

Victoria
Dodoo is the Acting Deputy Librarian of the Balme Library
at the University of Ghana. She will be helping with
the development of the eGranary digital library. |

Barfi Owusu
has worked as a systems analyst at the University of Ghana
Library for the past 12 years. He is currently
managing the University of Ghana Library Network, as well
as the Internet Backbone for the University. Owusu will be
working on the eGranary digital library project. |

Sunday Goshit |

Sunday is a
PhD student in the Department of Geography, University of
Iowa. He is also on the faculty in the Department of Geography
and Planning at the University of Jos, Nigeria. Being a
beneficiary of the Jos ITC Project, through which Sunday had
access to email services to facilitate his admission to Iowa,
he has always aspired for an opportunity to understand the
basics of ITC. |

Saweda Liverpool |

Saweda
Liverpool is presently a graduate student at the
University of Iowa pursuing a dual Masters degree in Urban
and Regional Planning and Third
World Development Support. Through her work with the WiderNet Project, she
hopes to develop skills in information technology
and to be involved with digitalization projects in Africa. |

Dr.
(Ms.) Chris Tamuno |
| |
Chris, the
fourth substantive Registrar of the University of Port
Harcourt visited to study the use of Information
Technology processes in enhancing the administrative functions
of universities, especially the University of Port Harcourt.
Equally of interest to her is how Universities can raise
sufficient funds to provide Nigerian students with modern
instructional and recreational facilities. |

Godwin Ikwuyatum |

Godwin Ikwuyatum, Visiting Professor of Geography from the
University of Ibadan in Nigeria, took classes at the
University of Iowa for professional development. He
conducted extensive research into GIS (global information
systems) and gave several lectures on behalf of the
African Studies Program and African Students Association. |

Reuben K. Udo |

Reuben Udo
is a professor of Geography at the College of Business of the
University of Ibadan. While at the University of
Iowa, Professor Udo taught courses in African Development
and Planning & Policy and gave lectures for various groups
in Iowa City. The WiderNet Project provided
Professor Udo with training and resources during his
visit. |

Mamman Aminu Ibrahim

As
the Deputy Director for Research at the Nigerian
National University Commission and the Chairman of the
Nigerian Universities Network, Dr. Ibrahim is on the
forefront of establishing digital communication systems
at Nigerian universities. He is one of the
partners of the WiderNet Project Coaching Decision Makers
Program. |
